How to request a pilot
The pilotage service request is made in accordance with LPA regulations art. 6 to 11
Required information for the first arrival per calendar year:
- Ship Name
- Nationality
- Call Sign
- Agent of the ship
- Length
- Breadth
- Moulded depth
- Deadweight tonnage
- Net tonnage
- Deepest Draft
- Sea Speed
- Origin
- Destination
Required information for every subsequent arrival:
- Ship Name
- Call Sign
- Deepest Draft
- Sea Speed
- Origin
- Destination
Ship is arriving from Strait of Belle-isle, Cabot ou Canso :
- Give a first notice of 24 hours before the estimated time of arrival to Les Escoumins Pilot Station
- Give a second notice of 12 hours before the estimated time of arrival to Les Escoumins Pilot Station
- Give a final notice of 6 hours before the estimated time of arrival to Les Escoumins Pilot Station
Ship is moving within the Montreal or the Quebec Harbour :
- Give a final notice 3 hours before the time of the movage
Ship is coming from the Seaway or from any harbour between Montreal and Quebec
- Provide a notice of 12 hours before the ship’s estimated time of departure.
- 4 hours before the ship’s estimated time of departure communicated above, confirm the above estimated time of departure.

Ship departure from Saguenay, Pointe-au-Pic, Cacouna or from a harbour East of Les Escoumins:
- Provide a first notice of 12 hours before the ship’s estimated time of departure.
- 6 hours before the ship’s estimated time of departure communicated above, either confirm the above estimated time of departure or communicate a revised estimated time of departure (second notice).
- If a second notice was communicated, provide the ship’s final estimated time of departure 6 hours before the end of the revised estimated time of departure (second notice).
